On Sunday 8th March 2026, Chris will be interviewing Galina on how she beat her 'terminal' Grade 4, Stage 4 Ovarian cancer, 23 years ago. This true story is not to be missed.
Did we say 'beat'? Yes we did.
The day before they met, Chris had built his first ever programme, that time for Geoffrey Boycott; Geoff's oncologist said he had just months to live, but Geoff is alive today 23 years later and his interview is here.
Galina was crying. Just 38 and recently married to John, she had received the devastating news that she had Terminal Ovarian cancer and was unlikely to survive three years. Galina was a former gymnast, property developer and accountant in Russia..
Chris built her a programme to make her chemotherapy work better and reduce the side effects; then another programme to help her through surgery; then others to rebuild her microbiome and her immune system.
As with Geoff, Chris and Galina are now friends, 23 years later. 'There's no such thing as Terminal Cancer', says Chris. 'The statement just means that Oncologists know their weaponry is running out. There are always routes you can explore. And Galina was determined - it's an attribute she shares with Geoff - determined people beat their cancer - but only if they are given the correct advice and weapons'.
We wrote Galina's story in Living Proof 18 years ago - now here's the Sunday Show - it covers everything from being determined, to what to do if you're going to lose your hair with chemo.
We think 23 years is long enough to say Galina BEAT her cancer, don't you?
